This is a short backseat demo ride (to our first gravel bar) to demonstrate the strengths and limitations of the fore and aft seating in the bush modified Super Cub. During this flight we set the tone of our training : caution, precision, and cooperation.

With the pilot now in the front seat, we emphasize ground handling issues critical to tail draggers by doing several ground exercises to learn stick placement and rudder/brake coordination. We do not belabor the tail drag elements but emphasize aircraft control and continual awareness of the wind direction and strength. The first T/O and landing start the transition to the Bush checkout with the tail drag endorsement coming when proficiency is reached.
